Training the next generation of GPs

Batemans Bay Medical & Skin Cancer Centre is proud to be a teaching practice, supporting medical students and GP registrars on their path to Fellowship. The team includes accredited supervisors and a senior medical educator who share teaching and supervision responsibility across the practice.

We support registrar-led learning, with individual teaching plans to help each registrar progress towards independent practice. Medical students from the Australian National University and the University of Sydney also spend time with the practice as part of their training.

Dr Moond moved to Batemans Bay in early 2014. His interests include respiratory medicine, cardiology, aged care, skin cancer detection and management, women’s health and paediatrics.

After passing Australian Medical Council exams, Dr Tahir moved to the Eurobodalla to pursue rural medicine. Her interests include general medicine, women’s health, mental health, geriatrics, paediatrics, chronic disease, travel medicine, immunisations and ATSI health.

Dr Goudar specialises in the treatment and management of lower limb conditions involving the hip, knee, foot and ankle.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, with fellowship training in hip and knee replacement surgery, foot and ankle surgery, and bone and soft tissue tumours.

Dr Ahmed Khan is an Australian-trained interventional cardiologist who specialises in all aspects of interventional cardiology, including FFR, IVUS and OCT.

His special interests include ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. He completed cardiology and interventional fellowships in Canberra and Fremantle and currently works as a consultant interventional cardiologist at Heart of Canberra, Deakin.

Dr Ronak Patel is a Consultant Neurologist at Calvary Public Hospital, Bruce, with postgraduate neurology training completed at John Hunter Hospital and The Canberra Hospital.

His interests include stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, headaches and migraines, and other neurological disorders. He also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate trainees and chairs the Calvary Public Hospital Neurology Research Group.
